I thought it would be interesting to see how people feel about the characters, places, and situations our favorite (or our favorite to hate) characters.

  • Darcy…sulking around and aloof or comes to the realization early
  • Elizabeth… taking a moment to learn about Darcy or being unforgiving early on
  • Colonel Fitzwilliam… Named Richard or something else
  • Colonel Fitzwilliam… good guy who is caring or a cad who is distrustful or chip on his shoulder over being a second son
  • Charles Bingley… good guy or bad guy or idiot
  • Mrs Bennet… good mom who is flighty or cruel and despicable mother you wouldn’t wish caring for a dead dog
  • Caroline Bingley… shrew or redeemable
  • Lady Anne and elder Mr Darcy… deceased or alive
  • Anne de Bourgh… spoiled, selfish and demands her own way or aids her cousin to not be forced into a marriage of convenience
  • Lydia Bennet… unresentful tart who would ruin the family or learns her lesson and reforms
  • Georgiana Darcy a meek and shy girl or a brazen spoiled brat
  • Story set in England or elsewhere
  • Story set in different timeline or in 1812 timeframe
  • Mr Bennet cares about Longbourn and is a diligent land owner or lazy and indolent
  • Elizabeth a Bennet or the child of another
  • Long drawn out courtship or quick know they love and take on the enemies together
  • Mr Darcy or Elizabeth have been married previously and have children or theirs is a one and only love
  • What level out of a score of steamy do you like? 1- 10, with 1 being absolutely no steam and everything chaste or 10 full board steam
  • Sweet and low angst or roller coaster of angsts that run all over the place
  • Colonel Fitzwilliam’s parents stuck up snobs or warm and welcoming
  • Jane Bennet naïve and head in clouds or secretly an Amazon warrior
  • Mr Collins a twat who is just a bumbling fool or a cruel piece of cawcaw
  •  Mr Bennet dies/dead or alive with all the family
  • Score of 1-10, how much do you want to smack so sense into Lydia (for me, it would be an 11 in most of the JAFF books I have read)
  • What color are Lizzy’s fine eyes
  • Elizabeth highly talented with music or just tolerable enough to get by
  • This is s big one… Colin or Matthew? Or one of the other others who played Darcy
  • Anyone you think would be good as our favorite taciturn gentleman who is uncomfortable around strangers? Mine is Theo James. He has the brooding, dark look who is truly a sweet heart inside.
  • When one is ill, to bleed them or not to bleed them…that is the question.
  • Which of JA’s story is your favorite. List them in order of your favorite to least favorite
  • Who is cuter… Regina Jeffers or me? Haha, sorry Regina, had to have a funny

Thank you for participating. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Darcy comes to the realization early
Elizabeth taking a moment to learn about Darcy
    Colonel Fitzwilliam… Named Richard
Colonel Fitzwilliam… good guy who is caring
    Charles Bingley… good guy
Mrs. Bennet… good mom who is flighty
Caroline Bingley… shrew or redeemable —either
Lady Anne and elder Mr. Darcy… deceased or alive—either
Anne de Bourgh aids her cousin to not be forced into a marriage of convenience (I love variations where Anne secretly has a backbone and fakes illness to avoid her mother until the time is right to reveal her true self)
Lydia Bennet learns her lesson and reforms
Georgiana Darcy a meek and shy girl (I hate bratty versions)
Story set in England or elsewhere —either
Story set in different timeline or in 1812 —preference for 1812 but can do either
Mr. Bennet is a diligent land owner
    Elizabeth a Bennet
Darcy & Elizabeth quickly know they love and take on the enemies together
Mr. Darcy & Elizabeth are a one and only love —
What level of steamy do you like? 1 no steam and everything chaste
Sweet, and low to moderate angst
Colonel Fitzwilliam’s parents warm and welcoming
Jane Bennet naïve and head in clouds or secretly a warrior —either but not evil
Mr. Collins a twat who is just a bumbling fool
Mr. Bennet dies/dead or alive with all the family —either
Score of 1-10, how much do you want to smack some sense into Lydia? 10 for most books but I love when Lydia keeps her personality but helps her sisters.
What color are Lizzy’s fine eyes… if she is brunette I’d say brown
Elizabeth music skills just tolerable enough to get by
This is s big one… Colin or Matthew? COLIN!!!
Anyone you think would be good as our favorite taciturn gentleman who is uncomfortable around strangers? IDK
When one is ill, not to bleed them…

Darcy early, Elizabeth moment. Colonel Richard, good guy. Bingley good, Mrs Bennet good. Caroline either, Darcy parents either. Anne aid, Lydia either, Georgiana shy. Story set anywhere, anytime. Mr Bennet diligent, Elizabeth either. Darcy & Elizabeth in love taking on enemies together. D&E one and only love. Steam any. Low angst. Earl and wife friendly. Jane Bennet either, Mr Collins fool. Mr Bennet either, Lydia 20. Elizabeth hazel or brown eyes. Musical skill either, Darcy both. New Darcy unsure. Favourite Austen Pride & Prejudice then most others in any order, last Mansfield Park. But I wouldn’t read any other again apart from P&P.

Theo James would be a great Darcy! Lizz y fine eyes would be brown. Characters they way they are. Steam level 4, smack Lydia I agree with 11!lol Favorite Austen book Pride and Prejudice probably Sense and Sensibility not sure about rest.

As long as it is a story with good guy Colonel Fitzwilliam paired with Mary Bennet I not really bothered about the rest. Though I prefer no steamy scenes as I always skip them. I also like the stories with a mystery as it makes them more interesting then a straight romance story i.e. all the Mary Bennet mysteries. My favourite books seem to change quite often and dependent on my mood.

Not fair, Melanie. I am nearly 20 years older than you.

Hey, hey! Just because there’s snow on the rooftop doesn’t mean there can’t be a fire in the furnace. 🙂

Early realization for both so that doesn’t make up the plot.
Elizabeth’s eyes should be brown and fine.
Richard as the name has been made into the Eleventh Commandment, so Richard it is.
I regard Bingley, Fitzwilliam, Mrs. Bennet, even Mr. Collins as “writer’s choice.” Make of them what you will in service to the story you want to tell.
1,2,5,4,36. I read and re-read all of them.
Lizzy and Darcy in love and taking on the rest of the world.
5-ish on Lydia. I like her to be her own woman and a bit smarter than the original.
If an author can write good smut, I say go for broke. Otherwise, I don’t mind tiptoeing past the bedroom door.

I only care about Darcy and Lizzy learning and caring about each other early. That being said I don’t mind the other just o they are together at the end. As for the other characters, they can be either way if it helps the plot along.

I am stuck with Richard as the colonel’s first name. I’ve written him good and bad, so either way is fine.

I choose #1 steam level though I don’t mind kissing.

I’m unable to rank my favorite stories, but I will list a few of my favorite author’s. Truly you are on my list with Magical, Mystical, Lizzy at the top. Tiffany Thomas is another. Shana Granderson, Laraba Kendig, Jennifer Joy, Leenie Brown, and Florence Gold are those that come to mind. I will not name my least favorite because I’m not willing to hurt others just because they are not to my taste.
