Elaine Owen

Elaine Owen has always loved reading and writing. Born in Seattle, Washington, she says she first read Austen’s Pride and Prejudice in ninth grade, delighting her English teacher with an oral report on the Austen classic. Finding her niche, Elaine continued to write throughout her teenage years, and, in high school, she served as chief editor of her high school yearbook.

Later, when she married, she moved to Delaware, and, although she did not not leave her love of reading and writing behind, it took a back seat for a spell as “real-life” set in. However, in 1996, she won a one-year contract to write guest editorials for the Sunday edition of The News Journal in Wilmington, Delaware. From there, she continued writing, generally, in political discussion groups and, occasionally, making forays into fiction.

Writing Jane Austen Fan Fiction (JAFF) came about around 2014. Elaine had been enjoying the tales of others on the various JAFF sites and decided to publish her own stories, “perhaps” to see if others might like them. Since then, Elaine has sold THOUSANDS of books, fulfilling one of her dreams.

While waiting for the inspiration for the next great novel, Elaine relaxes by working full time, raising two children, volunteering in her church, and practicing martial arts.
