A. K. Madison grew up as an Army brat. She became a confirmed Jane Austen fan after finding a copy of Northanger Abbey left behind by another military family, when her own family took over the quarters. She admits initially to having some difficulty in reading the book because of her age, but with her mother’s assistance, she was on her way to a life-long love of all things Austen.
The year 2016 saw her trying her hand at writing and sharing Jane Austen based fiction, commonly known as JAFF (Jane Austen fan fiction). She completed three novels and numerous shorter works to share on the various sites devoted to Austen. Ms. Madison admits, in her books, to being partial to situations where Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy work at resolving their personal differences while dealing with some external force that threatens their relationship. If the pair has a mystery to unravel along the way, so much the better.
Currently living in Baltimore, Maryland, near her two sons and three grandchildren, Ms. Madison spent most of her “day job” career as a computer systems engineer. She is retired now, but she spends her time as a volunteer community health worker.
